SUMMARY:

LC 43 1662

Relates to the transfer of service credit and accumulated contributions from the Teachers Retirement System (TRS) of Georgia to the Employees Retirement System of Georgia.

Would allow any vested member of the Teachers Retirement System and any person with at least nine years, 7 months and 30 days of membership service in the TRS who becomes an employee of an employer to elect to remain a member of the TRS of Georgia 

 

EFFECTIVE DATE:

July 1, 2020, only if it is determined to have been concurrently funded as provided in Chapter 20 of Title 47 of the Official Code of Georgia. Otherwise this Act shall become effective and shall be automatically repealed in its entirety on July 1, 2020.
